Baptism
Sunday morning was a time of great joy and celebration for us at Ebenezer as Eileen was baptised. Eileen has faced many challenges in her life and it has been a privilege to see the Holy Spirit working in her in recent months. To hear her testimony was an absolute thrill.
It is easy at a time like this to list all the things that baptism is not, however I would prefer to say what baptism means for us.
We believe in believer’s baptism by total emersion.
We believe that in baptism we are identifying with Christ, his death, his burial and his resurrection.
We believe that in baptism the Christian is portraying the death of an old way of life and the beginning of a new life in Christ.
We believe that in baptism the cleansing from sin by the death of Christ is pictured.
We believe that by being baptised we are obeying Christ, both his teaching and his example.
