The fact that you’re reading this blog probably means that you can use a computer and have internet access. According to the Office for National Statistics, in 2009, 21% of the population (10.2 million individuals) have never accessed the internet.
At Eb, one of our members Paul Lloyd has a passion for computers and a desire to teach people how to use them. Paul has started classes in the church on Friday afternoons, sometimes called ‘Computers for the Terrified’ where he gently takes people through their first steps on a computer.
The classes have been a great success with good numbers (usually 12+) and a really good atmosphere. Some have even been heard laughing and enjoying themselves, something we plan to stamp out with another of my jokes!
The picture shows Paul listening to one of my sermons relaxing after the class. The classes are on Fridays 1 pm – 3 pm and they are free.
