Holiday Club is one of the biggest events of the year at Eb. For more than twenty years the third week of the school summer holidays has been Holiday Club week. It is aimed at children aged 4 to 11 and each year attendance has grown with record numbers last August. There is a packed programme each day with craft and games as well as quizzes, songs and a story from Gary Stirling. Gary has been a part of Holiday club for so long that many of the adult volunteers were children when he began, though strangely, he looks exactly the same.
To build on that success, last Saturday saw only the second Christmas Holiday Club and already there is the feeling that it will not be the last. Parents were able to leave their children for a few hours and have a well earned rest or even take in some Christmas shopping. The children had a brilliant time and hopefully had a chance to remember the reason for the season, the Lord Jesus.
An event like this demands a huge commitment from all those involved, not only on the day but for the weeks and months spent in preparation. We are truly blessed to have people with the vision, passion and endurance for this ministry in the Church; they must never be taken for granted.
Please pray for the children, parents and carers in our community.
