Yesterday marked the blog’s first birthday. As I’ve posted previously, those nice people at WordPress provide extensive data as to the number of times that the blog has been accessed (a hit), the top referrers (Facebook etc) and the top posts (though 90% access through the home page). Those who subscribe to the blog (four people), receive the posts via email and are not counted in the hits.
The lowest number of hits as you would expect was the first month, October 2009 with a total of 209 hits and an average of 8 hits per day (the blog began part way through the month). There has been considerable fluctuation over the intervening months (some of which is very hard to explain) but the best month in terms of numbers was September 2010 with 1256 hits at an average of 42. The total number of hits is 9,597. Facebook was the top referrer, closely followed by Hannah’s blog. There have been more than 200 posts and over 100 comments left in the comment section.
