The games tonight consisted of a quiz that involved identifying everyday objects from pictures taken up really close and identifying both the song title and artists from the introductions of songs. If I’m honest, I wasn’t very good at picking tracks that were less than 30 years old.
For the talk, we looked at the work of Compassion. The young people were very keen to sponsor a child through the Genesis group and various methods of raising the necessary £21 per month were suggested. A large proportion agreed to commit to giving at least 50p per month towards the cost, we started a ‘keep the change’ option for the ‘Tuck shop’ where people can voluntarily donate some or all of their change which tonight raised over £4 and a box for donations was placed at the back where over £18 was given.
It was humbling to see such generosity from young people with at best part time employment. I will post more information on the sponsored child later.
Please pray for the group and of course for the sponsored child, her name is Roseanne and she is from Kenya.
