We’ve had a couple of good things going on in the last few days.
Yesterday, some of the children from Penygawsi Primary school paid us a visit. They were looking at churches in the area and came to see some of the things that go on at Eb. Debbie is so good at this type of thing that my role is to stay out of the way, but it was great to see the children really interested in the building and particularly the baptistery. It would be lovely to include some photos but in this day and age that isn’t possible however the school will probably post some pictures on their own blog in the next few days and when this happens I’ll include a link.
Today, there was a celebration in the church to mark the twenty years that Jenny has lived in Talbot Green and been in fellowship at Eb. The Ladies Bible study group had kindly extended an invitation to some of us to join with them in the celebration. At this point I should apologise for the lack of pictures but I’m afraid I simply forgot.
I think it’s good to look back and give thanks for fellowship. One of the pictures used to illustrate the church in scripture is the family of God. Every member of the family is important and valued, and everyone is called to love and encourage the other members of the family. Looking back, there have been times when personally, I felt unable to encourage anyone and it was at those times particularly that God used my brothers and sisters in Christ to encourage me.
This is a high calling for us all.
“Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:23-25)
