Regular readers will be aware that I have written here and here about the case of Mr and Mrs Johns. They are a Christian couple from Derby who have been deemed unsuitable to provide foster care for vulnerable children, due to their view that homosexuality is not a good thing.
I had thought that every angle had been covered on this case until someone pointed out the advertising hoarding in the centre of Talbot Green. The advertisement asks, “…do you care enough to foster?” beside a picture of teenage boy reading a book and has contact details for the Rhondda Cynon Taf Social Services Department.
On closer inspection, the book turns out to be a bible opened on the second and third chapters of John’s Gospel.
Surely Social Services must be aware of the potential danger of the young man being ‘infected’ by this Christian teaching. The danger is all too clear since the passage being read is of an incident that takes place during a wedding! And almost certainly a wedding between a man and a woman!
Its official then, the world really has gone mad.
Thanks to Rachel W for noticing the Advertisement .
Having read the post through again, perhaps I’ve been a bit too nasty and cynical. It is of course a lovely thing that there is a picture of a young guy reading the bible and Social Services should be commended. I repent in dust and ashes.
